“ Where do I begin?! An underrated gem in the metro Melbourne area! The cocktails are crafted with a great balance of flavours and there is something for everyone when you direct yourself through the cocktail diagram they have drafted up. Bonus points for the artwork that depicts each cocktail on the menu. Food was also unmatched - a variety of textures and east/ west flavours that blend well together, without feeling like it’s trying too hard. A standout was the dry aged duck, I would highly recommend this. Underdog dish were the dutch carrots (I believe this is seasonal). Another thing to note - exceptional service. You are greeted the moment you come in, attentive service, your water glass is never empty, the food and drinks menu are explained to you and it was nice that the staff member offered to explain in either English or Cantonese. There was a minor mishap with some traces of peanuts in one of the dishes however everything went smoothly, staff apologised, even offering some medications, and remedied this with taking the dish with traces of peanuts off of the bill + offering a dish of choice on the house. Additionally, when another guest arrived at our table at the last minute, staff quickly attended by joining up a new table (which was originally reserved), and setting up our additional guest with an extra plate, glass and utensils. Cosy ambience with the Hong Kong style neon lights and tiling. Spacious seating catered towards an intimate crowd. Overall, I would 100% come here again and bring my loved ones here! “ A very pleasant dining experience. All the dishes we ordered were delicious, my favorites were the beef siu mai and prawn dumplings. Their duck was so beautifully cooked but for me I think it didn’t need the sauce, it was super yummy on its own! Serving sizes were also decent. Cocktails were great, our table tried 2: Eastbound and Toddy & Henry. We would definitely have stuck around for more if it wasn’t Monday the next day! They had very interesting desserts. We tried the baiju cream cheese which was sort of a sponge cake topped with a baiju-blue cheese cream and red-wine poached pear. I loved it but the rest of my table didn’t like the blue cheese touch to the cake at all - win for me. I really like that the staff pointed it out as it definitely isn’t for everyone. On that note, I must say, service was excellent. Decor was pretty and vibe of the place was just perfect for a chilled dinner with friends, family or even solo. ”

“ Dining at Mongkok Café in Camberwell felt like stepping into a Wong Kar Wai film which is so charming, tranquil, and beautifully nostalgic. The set menu was exceptional, with inventive dishes like drunken fish and a cake topped with white wine cream, all at a surprisingly affordable price. Service was warm and top notch, and I loved how they offered wine pairings or even cocktails inspired by the ancient Bagua map for a unique touch. More than just a meal, it was a cinematic dining experience I can’t wait to revisit! I would highly recommend! ”

“ Great food, just wished the entrees were a little bigger! Definitely on the finer side of dining. We ordered the kingfish, sticky rice and arancini. Kingfish was very fresh, 4 slices for $30. Sticky rice was almost too small to taste. Arancini was our favourite with a perfect texture. Mains: fish, chicken and duck were all well seasoned and cooked. ”
